Stephan Koplowitz: TaskForce Los Angeles 2008 (site-specific dance & poetry) Excerpts

This short documentary highlights a site-specific performance by Stephan Koplowitz: TaskForce that is a collaboration with Los Angeles poet Suzanne Lummis and composer/musician Todd Reynolds. This site event was part of the series of works titled "Liquid Landscapes" which began as a site-specific performance tour of water related sites throughout the Los Angeles area from June 29 to July 6th.

Suzanne Lummis was commissioned to write poetry inspired by the LA River as part of this site performance.

The video chronicles site events that took place at four locations along the Los Angeles River and is presented in collaboration with Friends of the Los Angeles River (http://folar.org/) on July 6, 2008. The locations along the 51-mile river are: Sepulveda Basin, Yoga Park (Los Feliz), Heron Gate (Fletcher Dr), and the Arroyo Seco Confluence (@ the 110 Freeway).

TaskForce, Los Angeles performed "Liquid Landscapes" between June 29-July 6, 2008 at the following locations: Cal Plaza's Water Garden, the historic Farmers Market in Hollywood, The Open Space in downtown LA, The Banning Center at the Port of Los Angeles, at Farmlab adjacent to the Cornfield State Park, on Carbon Beach in Malibu and four locations along the Los Angeles River.

Stephan Koplowitz: TaskForce continued the "Liquid Landscapes" performance series with water related sites in Plymouth, UK in 2009.
