My first film(s) --- Film 2 of 4:
Remix Project --- Film based on the painting "Portrait of Isabel Rawsthorne" by Francis Bacon. These films show memories of Isabel through Bacon's eyes. Francis Bacon worked from photography to create these paintings (the reason for why the film is so photography-based).
"By the time Bacon came to paint this portrait of the artist 'Isabel Rawsthorne' he had given up painting for life. Instead he commissioned photographs of his subject and worked from these. The distance that a photograph put between him and the person allowed Bacon to conflate memory and appearance, without the distraction of the individuals actual presence. This enabled him to distort the thing far beyond appearance but in the distortion bring it back to a recording of appearance."
