W roku '39 zgłosili się ochotnicy
w dniach kiedy było niewiele krajów.
Statek odpłynął w błękitny i słoneczny poranek,
najsłodszy widok kiedykolwiek widziany.
I po dniu nastała noc
i gawędziarze opowiadali historię,
że wiele dzielnych dusz
przez wiele samotnych dni płynęło przez mleczne morza,
nigdy nie patrząc w tył,
nigdy nie będąc przestraszonymi,
nigdy nie płacząc.

W roku '39 przybył statek z błękitu,
Ochotnicy przybyli tego dnia
i przynieśli dobre wieści
o nowonarodzonym świecie
choć ich serca były ciężkie.
Ziemia jest stara i szara,
szukamy nowego domu.
Ale moja miłość nie może już istnieć
gdyż przeminęło tyle lat.
Choć jestem starszy tylko o rok,
oczy twojej matki w twoich oczach płaczą do mnie.
