BBC 1 CLOSEDOWN FROM THE WREKIN

On the 20/04/11 The Wrekin went through stage 2 of DSO/ATO which means that all analogue has been switched off.
I have used this transmitter which is 58 miles from my location since it opened in 1975 so i will say goodbye to an old freind.

This a video of BBC 1 uhf ch 33 was originally on uhf ch 26 before stage 1 of dso being switched off at 00:34 20/04/11.

The aerial used is a 31 year old colour king (a grid aerial) with no amplification + 3 vcr's and a pc with a tv card.

I have just checked the vcr recording and yes the sound does cut off before the video,The reason will be they switched off the audio tx before the vision tx as with analogue there is a tx for each one.

Did they cut off the audio carrier first before the video, or is it some error in encoding for Youtube? I would have thought the audio and video would be transmitted by the same device and therefore go off at the same time...
