Super Mario RPG LLG Culex Part 1

This is one of the hardest fights in the game:
Unless you can time Rock Candies well (I obviously can't :\) you'll need to bust out your Star Egg after your candies are all used.

Mario can't live in this fight at level 3.
Peach with a saftey ring is the only thing that protects her from most of the crystal's moves, and Bowser with the Lazy Shell and Amulet gives him the overall best defense.
Anyway, this is how the fight goes:

Green Crystal:
Uses Petal Blast which will kill an undefended Peach, but doesn't do anything against Bowser. Also dies very quickly and nothing to worry about.

Red Crystal: A useless Crystal that has no move worth mentioning. Will die 3rd.

Blue Crystal: This Crystal tends to remain high in FP for awhile but goes down 2nd. He has one move to worry about: Diamond Saw which does 16 damage (exactly enough so that an un-guarded physical attack by Culex will kill you). Other then that, it's only a moderate threat at best.

Yellow Crystal: Last to die and most dangerous of the 4. Blast will deal 5 damage to you (as opposed to 0 or 1) and he'll also use Storm (24 damage, leaving you vulnerable to Culex's physical hit). Both of those moves will kill Peach as well. He'll run out of FP after a bit, but until then he's your #2 problem, next to Culex. Also, he has Boulder which will kill Peach (but do nothing to Bowser).

Culex: Obviously the last to die, but has the only moves that cause a problem. Bracers and Energizers' effects will be removed by Shredder, which is *scripted* to be used every 3 turns. So he'll use two moves, shredder, two moves, shredder, etc. This prediction will greatly help in figuring out when to and not to attack.
Finally, we'll get to his attacks:
Meteor Blast does nothing to Bowser, but kills Peach.
Flame Stone doesn't do anything, be glad when he uses this.
His physical attacks do 64 damage to Bowser, they're difficult to block because it's invisible (no animation) and it's the biggest issue in the entire fight. He uses it often, at least as often as Shredder, if not more, although it *is* random.
Dark Star is the most deadly of his arsenal, which is why you have to get Peach up intermittently to make sure only one of your characters die at a time as Dark Star can only kill 1 person.

Eventually, Culex WILL run out of FP, and I advise throwing up a Bracer at this point, as this will give you protection against his physical attacks and he'll no longer be able to use Shredder to take it off. Inbetween rounds, defend, heal yourself if you're below 2/3rds health, and use a bracer.

This fight is all about survival.

@Lilmont789 You need to get the Shiny Stone first.  To get that you need to buy the Fireworks from the toad in Molesville for 500g, then I believe you trade it to a girl for her Carbo Cookie, and you trade the Carbo Cookie for the Shiny Stone... or something like that?

Then you use the Shiny Stone on one of the doors in Monstro Town. Voila! Culex.

ok that was amazing. you seem to have this strategy down to a science. you played the whole game at a low level?

Yes I did :) All the videos are uploaded. Smithy's second form is about as hard as Culex, it's a toss up which was harder.
