@djkenny Nope, you should be fine! I cooked over a butane stove three times a day for a week while on a backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts. I used the classic/cheap aluminum mess kit, no problems. If it can handle butane, I am sure it can handle wood.
Good luck!

Do you think the open fire would be too much for a cheap little Coleman budget style mess kit like the Boy Scouts use? This looks great. I think I will return my MSR Pocket Rocket. I bike tour so the extra lbs are not fantastic, but not a deal-breaker by any means. Seeing I can recharge my i Phone and batteries too boot? No brainer.

How can I buy one of these?? I looked everywhere online including your link...

a bit too big, but really nice!

You guys did an incredible job here and the work your doing around the world is commendable. That said, I think the only thing that will hold this back from flying off the shelves is weight... I know it's asking for the impossible but if you guys manage to get the weight down to a pound, your at least in the same category as other cook systems. At 2 lbs it's just a hard sale.

I don't know if you picked the best spot to demonstrate this with all those dry leaves around...

Neat!

How can this be 'clean' if it is produced in China?
From the BioLite web page, the stove produces between 1 and 2 watts.
