I just had another idea. You make the base and then 7 petals or so, glue some googly eyes on it and you have an octopus that you can put on a card or something :P

Haha when I saw this I thought immediately of brains :P. If you would make it in pink and put it in a zombie head it would look really cool. A nice little project I'm sure gonna try!

The video ended abruptly and my flower did completely come together. What finishing did you do besides the slip stich?

Do you have a written pattern for this flower? I am deaf and the closed caption doesn't work on it but I would love to do this for my mom. She has a jacket and I saw a old ragged flower pinned on her jacket pocket and I thought I'd like to make her a new flower for the jacket then I saw this tutorial. She loves chrysanthemums. Thank you!
