Shadow of the Colossus Opening (HD)

The actual opening sequence (2nd opening) to Shadow of the Colossus as captured by me on an emulator.

Now you can pay attention to all the wonderful details (and have a better idea of how much effort Ico Team put into them). =]

This is NOT a PS3 release preview! (Though I believe a PS3 release would look a lot like this, just maybe with more polygons and less artifacts.)

Technical details:
- The video was captured in 1280x960, but the actual internal resolution on the emulator was double that size (2560x1920).
- During cutscenes, the game goes to a movie-like widescreen aspect ratio. In this case, that was 1280x685. I only posted here this portion of the screen.
- The original widescreen portion of the cutscenes was 1280x685, but since there was little difference I've resized it to 1280x720 so that it'd take the whole space of YouTube's wide screen.
- This was made at 59.940 fps (NTSC without interlacing), but YouTube corrects that to 29.970 fps.
- Audio was originally at 48khz. I'm not sure if YouTube changes that.
- I've made comments on the video about the artifacts caused by the forced higher resolution. Please disable them if you prefer.

Actually, I was trying to upload the video with as better quality as possible, so it got a lot bigger than necessary (800MB).

Also, 60fps at 1280x720 is really a lot to process, so depending on your computer the video could get slow or frame skip too much (or not).

I recommend just using keepvid or something to get the 30fps version from YouTube, but if you really want it, I could send it again to some site (if I can find one that accepts 800MB videos). In that case, just tell me. =)

hi im using the same emulator but the game runs in slow motion even the music. any ideas on what im doing wrong? thanks in advance

I started playing this game again recently. It's really strange, though. I was certain that the first time I played this game Wander never said anything.

When I played it again and heard him speaking something seemed wrong, so I looked up the intro on youtube and it seems he did talk.

I played this game on PCSX Emulator too and it went perfectly fine (although with the same graphic issues you experienced in your version), but during the cutscenes the audio always got out of sync.

I'd love too see a remake of this game (and ICO) on PS3 before their new game, "Last Guardian", is released.

If they do it, I hope they don't just blow up the resolution and framerate, but also get a higher polygon count and sharper textures :)

This game doesn't even run um 60fps. And a video is actualy running at 24fps. No need to do that.
