From the album "Milk And Honey", which John and Yoko originally planned to release in 1981 as a follow-up to "Double Fantasy". Unfortunately, we all know why that never happened. Instead, the album became the first posthumous release of John Lennon's music in 1984.

  • paul's 'bang bang maxwell's silver hammer' was prophetic.

'bang bang' refers to the firing of a gun.

'maxwell' ('max'), is a cryptic reference to mark chapman. mccartney identified him using a name with the same 2 first letters ('m' & 'a'), and whose 3rd letter ('x') is the universal 'Mark' (as in, Mark chapman) made by people who cannot write (as mccartney could not write chapman's full name).

and the charter arms .38 special 'revolver' (a title suggested by paul) was indeed silver.

  • @mrfrogbutt1 You're right, it's exactly this kind of direct honesty in his late work that I find profoundly peaceful, or profoundly moving or profoundly... something else :D. I guess what I mean is that while all of the beatle's work was great and some of it, really great I think I can connect with john's work in the most real way. To the point that it is haunting, and kind of irreplaceable. Y'know?

  • @gangliums Its so sad that the reviews for Double Fantasy were originally so terrible and it wasnt until his death that everyone realized what we all lost. John's last songs were his most honest and brilliant because they dealt with life and nothing else. In his words'"Life is what happens when you're making other plans" And indeed..how missed you are John especially in this era of great falsehoods.

  • Lennon was amazing

  • This specific songs is without a doubt remarkable!
