You need a 5.1 soundcard output for the best results. The 3 cables(green,orange,black) go from the soundcard to the Subwoofer then to the speakers. With the laptop you can use the Aux input available at the back of the woffer and upscale it on the controller. However you wont be getting true 5.1 in games and stuff.Hope it is of some help to you. Frekin awesome set of Speakers :)

i tried the same song on logitech x-540 with edifier M1360 and Edifier X-3. it sounds fantastic! i like your speakers though! nice bass responds mids and highs!

Finally someone who is playing music so you can here the speakers quality and not how loud the bass can go and then distort the microphone on the camera so you can not here the music LOL they sound very nice I am amazed for a pc speaker how good they sound. I think I will buy these over the Z5500 much better. Thanxs

i would relocate that sub. in my experience, putting a sub in a shelving of some sort will produce some unwanted vibrations. i may be wrong..... but the system sounds awesome. very musical =)
