  • he just has the cutest smile... it's so stupid, I'm 18 and people my age seem to have no idea who he is anymore...

  • Danny Kaye is my absolute favorite actor of all time. I wish so bad that I could have met him, but he died two years before I was born. Dx

  • He was awesome!

  • I LOVE DANNY KAYE!!!

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday

I know what you're saying...When I was 18, my friends used to say to me that I only liked "dead people". I hated that!

  • The first time I saw Danny Kaye was in the Inspector General when I was around 8 years old. Since then I have seen almost everything he has appeared in. I wont ever forget his charm and grace, and especially his amazing talent! My only regret is that I wont ever be able to meet him. He is sorely missed. I am 18 years old and I am a Danny Kaye fan!

  • I saw The Court Jester when I was maybe 11 or 12. I've been a fan of this guy since that day.

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday I only remember him from the Inspection General film.

  • Hate to say it, but Danny looks vaguely like Al Gore here.

    (... sorry Danny).

  • @chettmansberger All the best to you too! Also, I just wanted to say, that is so cool that your Dad played in the orchestra on his show. That is so wonderful that you knew someone who knew him. Did you ever get to go see his show, (if you are old enough that is)? I have a few of his shows that I've collected, and I can't imagine what it was like to see it live.

  • @Neverland110

Dear Neverland, you're so correct! I don't know why my memory had it that he had 4 children, instead of his only daughter (maybe because I'm one of 4!). Regardless, he was a very well loved and gentle man, with a passion for making people smile. How much richer could a person be? Thanks for the correction. All the best thoughts to you and yours!

  • @chettmansberger

I completely agree with you, except that he and his wife Sylvia only had one child, Dena Kaye. She was born in 1946. (Though he should have had more, from the article I read that Dena wrote about him, he was a great father to her.) Everything else, WELL SAID!!!
