@WhiteKnightVengeance - U.S. Army was supposed to consist of the State and Local Militias called up to fight an enemy when Congress DECLARED War on an Enemy. In WWI this Philosophy ended with the need for a Modern Standing Army. The ArmyAirforce was part of the Army, and then seperated as Just the Airforce. The Coast Guard is part of the Department of Commerce and in time of War is part of the United States Navy. United States Navy & United States Marines are this American Republics OLD GUARD.
