Bringing an SV650 back to life that I bought for ($100.00), but it needed a lot of work and time. The bike was sitting outside under the weather for 3 years, the calipers were frozen, forks needed rebuilt, front master cylinder needed rebuilt, radiator leaked, water pump needed rebuilt, thermostat was stuck shut, throttle was stuck, carburetors were all gummed up from 3 year old fuel left in it, battery no good, and after all that it still had to be made street legal cause the original owner had it stripped to use as a track bike. After all my work now I have a SV650 with a Yoshimura RS-3 full exhaust and header system, a Jet Kit, K&N air filter, Sargeant Seats with red piping. Puig rear tire hugger, Race Tech fork springs, Scotts steering damper, PIAA Turbo Led light, SVR-6 Fairings, delkevic radiator, and a Trail Tech Vapor digital computer gauge. That runs great after I did all the repairs and rebuilds myself under $375.00 and that is including the $100.00 I paid for the bike. You can't beat that with a bat.....

  • Love the vid! I bought a 99 (Canadian) sv650s off craigslist for $1000, perfect cosmetically, just needed a base gasket and reassembly...love the fact you dug in there and fixed it...much respect for that

  • @dangerdan408 Thanks a lot man! I think it was well worth the $100 I paid for it. It turned out to be a pretty nice bike after I was done with it.

  • great video :) its allways nice to see bikes restored to their former glory. i just got my 2001 sv650, was in pretty good knick when i got it, but needed some major cleaning and tlc, otherwise the engine and major components we're pretty sound. putting it back together tomorrow :D

  • @lilgothgirl29 Thanks a lot! Putting this bike back to my likings was a time consuming process but well worth the effort. if you can send me a video or picture of before and after when finish your bike. I would love to see it.

  • Nicely done! The SV650 is a great bike, not lacking in horsepower but no too much either. Great fun!

  • hey man. nice work with the bike. i have basically the exact same bike. but i still have the stock half front fairing on it. im looking to get a lower fairing on the bike. would you happen to know where to go to find something like that?

  • I have a 2000 SV650S (semi-fairing) blue, a little tuned. I like it very much!

Your bike is very nice too!

  • $100.00? For real?

What kind of fool would sell that for a mere $100.00? I could get more than that for the carbs alone.Oh well, his stupidity is your good fortune eh.Nice work on bringing it back to full working order.

  • fair play to ya good job!
