You have a point. But we need also to think differently. National Anthems, IMHO, need not be war cries. They can be things that extol the virtues and treasures and memories of a nation. Nationalism world over should make a paradigm shift 0 from narrow jingoistic tendencies to all embracing gloabal vision where every nation respects the individuality of every other nation and learns the vital need for interdependence amongst them.

Although Tagore's version was only for 52 seconds ( sung as national anthem), this depicts India and it's heritage and philosophy so much needed in today's world. Excellent. We are going to show it in Our Indian Mela next week in Cardiff, UK

He is an Indian musician just like all the others in the video. The objective of showcasing so many musicians seems to be to display our rich diversity of faiths and culture.

What idiocy! Nehru didn't spite the Muslims; it's writers like you that bring in negative ethnicity. Indian authorities chose it over Vande Matram for two reasons: it had an anthem quality (think drums and the beat); it was less Hindu in character. If you can put up with Ram forcing his noble wife to agni priksha; put up with a young lad flowing with the Delhi Darbar times to get recognized.
