You have a point. But we need also to think differently. National Anthems, IMHO, need not be war cries. They can be things that extol the virtues and treasures and memories of a nation. Nationalism world over should make a paradigm shift 0 from narrow jingoistic tendencies to all embracing gloabal vision where every nation respects the individuality of every other nation and learns the vital need for interdependence amongst them.

Although Tagore's version was only for 52 seconds ( sung as national anthem), this depicts India and it's heritage and philosophy so much needed in today's world. Excellent. We are going to show it in Our Indian Mela next week in Cardiff, UK

I agree with you. There is Swagatalakshmi's version on youtube itself. Much better than this. This version is compromised to interpret the Bengali words. To those who do not understand Bangla, after listening to this move on to the original version, much as Tagore himself created it.

Mr. Srinivasa: Your understanding of Tagore and his work is extremely limited. I feel pity on you. The fourth stanza refers to "mata"..the English King you mean? The half wits like you have destroyed India's potential.
