Norman Finkelstein talks at Edinburgh University in January 2008 about the legality and status of Israel's wall, acquired land, borders, settlements and settlers in occupied territories. According to the highest world court, Israel's wall is illegal. Also decided, Israel has no title to Gaza, West Bank or East Jerusalem. The settlers and settlements are also deemed illegal.

The wall (1) stops terrorists from wandering into Friendly areas from hostile arab areas and causing havoc and (2) marks the potential border of the state of israel and potentially the state of palestine. The wall only covers the hostile areas and as far as i am aware every country has border or some kind of perimeter fence.

I am not aware that any any Israeli representatives are allowed to voice their reasons for the wall at the International Court of Justice

@simonjajames Yes, every country has border and their borders are built on their land - not their neighbours. Reasons don't matter in court, only what is legal or illegal.

Israel has its own land. Palestinians has to go to Arabic states. What are all those arabs doing in Europe and USA? They want a whole world.

The wall is a terrible and likely illegal barrier. It would not be necessary if Israel was not trading peace for land, as almost all of their governments seem to quietly desire.

But it has cut down on some terrible terrorism that does no one any good. Besides it's obvious inhumane nature it makes it harder to see the justice of many of the Arab's pov, and therefore hurts them too. So it may be a necessary evil in every sense of the term, it may help emotions calm down a bit.

@ohioguy7 Israel doesn't trade (or swap as I read on the bbc) "peace for land". Israel takes land illegally. The land that youre talking about isn't Israels in the first place.

The wall hasnt cut anything apart from Palestinian land. What it has done though is provided a platform for Israeli terror, more killing machines, some remote-controlled to kill Palestinians who try to farm their land nearby, ie, the de facto Israeli imposed buffer zone.

You can flower it up and defend if u want

No. The real terrorists are the Israeli government and anyone who supports Israel's illegal existence and occupation of Palestinian land.  The Palestinians are just trying to get their land back since it was taken forcefully from them without their permission.

Do you see this too cloudd420 or are you just an Israel supporter who twists any criticism directed at Israel into hatred towards Jews in order to turn the focus away Israel's illegal acts and into an act of anti-Semitism by their criticisers.
