@Camtodd87 How did this video jack-up your laptop? The message repeated in this video is to do your research on your specific PC before installing the new OS. What problem are you having now? Do you have an error message? Have you googled the name of your PC and "downgrade to XP"? Searching Google for specifics on your PC will help you find drivers and any unique steps for your PC.
I work for HP, so I'm not an expert on Gateway PCs.

@tube4uall I'm not sure how well that would work as each software will have it's own install executable files that you would have to run individually anyway. It could be possible to set a script to run all these, but I don't know how to create a script like that.

(did this before I saw your video, Didn't help thou) I tried to install Xp over Vista on Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. I booted from XP-CD and while doing those basic checking things it said: No hard drive can't be found... Right! So have to test it with Numba 7 then.
MrKepponen 5 months ago
@MrKepponen That error tends to happen because you have a SATA hard drive and XP doesn't support SATA natively. I've heard of two solutions for this. You can change your BIOS hard drive setting to IDE or BOTH. Or you can slipstream a SATA driver into your XP install. Try searching google for your model number and "downgrade to XP" or the error message you get, and you'll likely find steps on what you can do with your specific PC.

Will a windows xp service pack one disk that says for "dell computers only" run on an hp desktop? And I can't reach the internet without crashing on windows vista.... Is it possible to make space for it on drive, then download.. Then download the needed files? Let me know.. I can only run my 2008 hp with vista in safe mode basic (no internet) without freezing/crashing! Thanks

@Animekingification Hmmm...I don't actually know the answer to your OS disc question. I've never tried using Dell's OS discs. So you'll have to try that at your own risk. It also sounds like your version of Vista has some system file issues. I wouldn't trust loading any files to a PC that is so close to not working until I could stabilize the PC.
