I hate how some people use religion as an excuse to justify discrimination. This is one of the few things that I agree with Obama on.

People only 70 years ago said the same thing about how blacks and women couldn't effectively serve in the military. Today, we have black and female officers/NCO's in important leadership positions.

The soldiers are under enough stress as it is, and having to worry about thinking someone next to you in the shower may be looking at you 'differently' is just more distractions from the war. It's fine to be whatever sexuality you want, just don't go around telling people and no one would ever have to worry about anything related to the sort.

I am very thankful for any person willing to sacrifice their life in the war for ours, GAY OR NOT, but I think the main reason this would ever be 'awkward' for some people and why it has been a law for so long is because a lot of the time the men are forced to shower together butt naked, change together, sleep togehter, etc. and it may be uncomfortable for a straight man. The law never said gay people couldn't BE IN THE ARMY, they just said don't go around telling everyone, keep it to yourself.

Its such fucking bullshit that the queers had to get this passed into law. I mean it isn't like you HAVE to put down straight or gay as your orientation and even if you did, just lie.. but keep it to yourself.. Isn't that only fair? But no, you fuckers want more..
