  • Hey, what kind of pedal(s) would you recommend for Bogner XTCs

  • @Alu122112211221

depends on what you are going for. I like the keeley ts-9 mod plus for the bogner and keeley ts-9 baked mod for the naked or the majik box rocket fuel. I use one or the other to saturate the red channel a bit more than over driving for a blues type of break up. I prefer all or nothing usually.

  • Hey man, really nice gear you have. have you by any chance tried any anderson guitars?

  • @GuitarRocks23455

I have played a few but never owned one. love them. I have been thinking about picking up an Anderson drop top if I happen to come across a used one for a good price. been looking every day for about a month now....

  • @chillywilly12345 Yeah I have those on a toggle switch, but the mod I removed was on the actual Red Gain pot lugs. I guess they were trying to smooth out some fizz in the red, but it was actually killing the blue channel. I guess they're tied together on tube V2. You can also add gain to both channels by putting a .22 cap over R19.

    Thanks

  • @fattone

glad you got it sorted. I know there are a few mods for the red channel out there that all involve adding a a resistor to the R12 resistor. but it shouldn't have any impact to the blue channel at all

    ie.

    post 2004 mod

    2.7k 1-watt carbon film resistor

.22uF 250V poly [propylene] film capacitor

    "cameron" mod

    10k 1-watt carbon film resistor

1uF 250V poly [propylene] film capacitor

  • @fattone Problem solved;) Somebody modded the Red channel gain knob with some cap on the pot, I guess to smooth the tone. The Blue and Red are somehow tied together. When I removed the mod I got gain and sensitivity back in the blue. Weird.

  • @chillywilly12345 Cool. Reason I asked is I have a 101B as well but my Blue channel feels like it's lacking some of the gain that I've heard in other 101Bs. Wondering if something came loose. My green and red work fine.

  • @fattone

Yes that's me Boof from rig talk. Ill try to do some blue channel stuff this weekend or next weekend. Might be out of town for work.
