For my fx shot I replaced the Golden Gate bridge with a full cg model and had my WW2 plane (Zero) crash in an accident

  • I photoshopped out the buildings in the background and then a major part of the bridge....I could then use this in the background when I composited the new 3D bridge and everything on top.

  • It's from a still image, From there I modeled the bridge/carss on the bridge in Maya (I found the bridge blueprints online, did a rough model and then positioned it on top of the image I found online). Then I projected the bridge onto the model so it had the same texture, the explosion is maya fluids, the ropes are maya ncloth, and the water is a mix of maya ocean and the image itself..

  • Thanks for the comments everyone. This is an old project from when I took the VFT program at Seneca College. Yes, the planes are Japanese, they are leftover models from another project I did. This was done in Maya (from Autodesk), composited in Fusion (from Eyeon), with some photoshop work done as well. To quickly break it down. (cntd in next post)
