This guy goes on to say that the LTTE went and performed ethnic cleansing prior to 83 of Muslims and sinhalese in the north, now my question is why cant i find any info on this. You can however find ethnic cleansing of the muslims in the east in the late 80s and 90s, attacks which the Tigers went on to appologize for. However i could not find anything about the sinhalese being wiped out in the north. If this statement were in fact true wouldnt the sri lankan media make it very well known?

Between Buttala and Pottuvil situated so many ruins and one is worth visiting. This is the ancient Magul Maha Vihara built by King Dathusena between 516 -526 BC. Later, Vihara Maha Devi wife of the Parakrama brothers renovated the jungle covered shrine and installed one of the most exquisite moonstone carvings in Sri Lanka. And that's info for you!

how is this idiot going to talk about the Tamils and the sinhalese were living in peace when the sinhalese went rioting on occasions prior to the july of 1983, it happened in the 1958 and again in 1977.

How would this guy see these emails being circulated amongst Tamil groups saying that the riots of 83 were a blessing in disguise.

@EelamTamil23 If you don't know the history of Sri Lanka, like many other Tamil extremists living abroad pumping dollars to kill their own race, read Mahawansaya. It has written history since 2500 years ago up to the date. 1983 Riot and 77 Riots were not done by "Sinhalese". It was done by "Sri Lankans". And there was no ethnic portion to those riots. They wee pure political and was mainly organized by JVP. Feels like an idiot? Get use to it. That's normal when you are one.

I dont buy that the Tamils led the mob to the Tamil houses. I was there in 1983. The most likely explanation was that the UNP sponsored the attacks to discredit the JVP who were the only non Tamil party which gained support in the North and the East. The UNP underestimated the fact that there would be a huge uprising from the Tamils, as before they were just hit and run gangs. There was ethnic cleansing of the Singhalese in the North.

What a crazy story, this should be made into a film honestly. It makes total sense though, the tamils held all the top ranking positions in the police etc and other government departments at the time because the british actually gave all the top positions to the tamils. Shame the real truth isn't reported anywhere.

1. You deny that the riot started on 23rd, but accept SL troops were attacked on 23rd. Technically, wasn't that the real start?

2. The wedding ring part is a bulshit? Is that it? It is written in police entries, see old lankadeepa editions, you might find a copy published in it.

3. So Cyril Mathe knew where Tamils live better than the Tamils them selves?
