I'm a TOTAL newbie to making videos let alone posting them to youtube so please forgive me for the bad sound in the song and anything else that might be wrong with this video, NEWBIE please keep that in mind :D
I was inspired by this video by threadbangers, it helped me SO much! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKcbk6xnSz4

This is not where i got my hat pins but wish i had my teapot one anyway! They tell you how and have the awesomely cute tea pot charms to use.

This is just a few pictures I took while I was in the process of making my Mad Hatter's hat. I know i skipped a couple steps but there was a point where i had a little difficulty and stopped taking pictures cause i was dealing with the hat but i hope that what i do post might help someone a little. It was pretty easy accept i had some trouble with the rim only because i didn't have pins and glued it instead of sewing it. I didn't do any sewing at all, i used the liqued seem. Anyway i wanted one to wear to the movie premiere and for the price that disney was asking for theirs i wasn't impressed with them at all, i mean they were ok but didn't have the hat pins or much of anything else. I went looking for one to buy when i came upon this video to make one and thought, "that looks easy enough" So i went to goodwill, bought a brown stretchy dress with the lace overlay and a salmon colored sheet for the tie. Bought gold knitting needles at the local "mart" store, snipped the knitting ends of those off and glued some beads i found to them for the hat pins. I used the extra beads i had left on the ends of the scarf for detailing instead of the flowers on the original. I did make mine the 8 inches instead of 10 just cause i thought the 10 looked too tall for me. Thank you threadbangers for posting this and making it possible for all of us Mad Hatter fans to have our own hats!!!

  • Look in the above description info to find a link on how to make tea pot hat pins and where to buy them. I didn't use this site but thought i would post it for anyone that is wanting to know about how to make and where to buy the supplies.

Could you please tell me what is that gray thing in the first 2 pictures?? The one you use to make the body of the hat?? And if I'm corrent for the buttom you used hard paper??

  • @Heliophobiak That is a piece of black poster board i used to make the body of the hat and a piece of cardboard for the bottem/top. And thanks.

  • Where did you buy the materials?

  • @IAmYourForever The fabric was a dress curtain from good will.

  • i love your work brilliant colours, themes and imagination! :)

  • what are the white things on the hat before paiting

  • I made one of these myself too, it doesn't look exactly like yours cause i went all out with the material colors, but it still had all the classic elements like the burnt card and the pekock feather. But where did you find those pins? The big hatting pins i couldn't find anywhere. Oh well. i had fun, and your hat looks awesome! yay for fellow hatters! :D

  • hi I have a proposal for you, how can I contact you?
