Seriously though- great video.

The old testament its a diary of a brutal god, a blood thirsty asshole if you ask me.
Nothing more refreshing than destroying entire cities and looting them.

I've never heard anyone defend the bible in real life - only in American videos / tv shows.

In Israel of that time only women were stoned when they commited adultery. Men were not. So there was a double standard and Jesus challenged that.
Right now, we have hundreds of Bible versions. The only reason there are so few from history, is the fact that they didnt have printers. Every little cult that wants to have power, makes their version. Catholic church is a power structure of men and imo a cult aswell. They dont follow the Bible;
mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth

Nevermind most only include 4 gospels out of 30+ (thanks to a certain roman caesar)
So all of them are inherently incomplete.

The philosophical viewpoint of the story is the condemnation of the sadistic pleasure those hypocritic men got from stoning while considering themselves as righteous, which is indicative of the disease affecting the prevalent ultra conservative society. However, this wouldn't be the viewpoint you would get if you were expecting Jesus to establish a law or a theocracy. Of course it's a bit ambiguous whether he wanted it, though that's not the overall impression.

Triathe,, when I read your comment about him needing a bigger audience, I thought about sending a link to all the fundies. Then I realized that they would not even open it.

This is an interesting video. But suppose it is infact true that the story of Jesus and the adulteress accounted of in John never actually happened. Suppose it was totally fabricated. Why ever would the person who invented it strangely introduce a seemingly random portion where Jesus bends down, not once but twice, to write in the sand?? Doesn't that strike you as quite odd to say the least? I love your videos drix!
antonyneal, Driz is the first person on YouTube to actually know the texts and their origins I have seen. Having been a gopher for a Jesuit Scholar (a Doctor of Theology.. who also introduced me to the concept of Black Holes when the term was brand new) who was studying the Apocrypha in the Vatican Library, I'd say he's done a damn site more research than most.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm certainly open to the possibility that I'm wrong.
It would be simple to demonstrate that I am.... an early papyrus of John 8!

The thing is though, that the people wouldn't dare change the word of God. That would get you stoned. People took the word of God very seriously and considered it holy. I seriously doubt anyone could succesfully edit it.

So... even though I'm arguing from a consensus of historical fact, you disagree because people would get killed for changing the word of God?
What do you think Christianity was like before cannonization? Lol.
