wow i just got my first baitcaster. it took about an hour an i finally think that im OK to go fishing with it. still aren't very accurate but i will keep practicing for sure.

It's hell frustrating to correct any backlash/birdnesting....still trying to get use to baitcasting. I'll give it a few more weeks then I may just stay with spinncasting.

Steve, thanks for encouraging viewers to give a baitcaster a try. They are tricky, yes, very tricky and require a lot of patience and practice. It took me several years to work up the confidence to use one consistently; now I hardly go anywhere without one. Although I am R handed, I also prefer a L hand retrieve reel. It completely eliminates switching hands and you can set the hook with your "power" hand. Winkiedoodles
