Adultery, PreMarital Sex VS Homosexuality as a Sin

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

@JingleBerries11 who's knows. we al interpret the bible differently. rings were once a symbol of ownership. a lot of people say paper is just like a written contract.

I guess what's most important is the marriage between two people in their heart... which is pure love.

but many people would say oral sex is sex, because it contains the words sex. it's just another form of it. not going to say safer, because you can still catch things from oral sex. but no offspring will be produced.

I think it also says in there that divorcing and remarrying is actually considered adultery. Why aren't ppl trying to make that illegal??? Hmmmm....

Nothing is different. According to the bible, adultery and pre-marital sex are sins. But we don't stone people anymore. We just picket them.

@norqvader Np, though I still think that your interpretation of the bible is exactly that (an interpretation), rather than it being clearly stated in the bible that the old testament no longer applies.

@Jamieishere1 I poorly communicated my point there. Sorry. My point was the punishment for the sins were accomplished by Jesus' death/ressurection. The Law still applies in that, it shows that all have sinned, and any sin separates us from God. Faith in Christ brings forgiveness. The punishment is accomplished. Jesus did not abolish the law, He fulfilled it. (Matt. 5:17)

@norqvader Isaiah 53:5 doesnt specifically state that the death penalty no longer applies or that the old testament doesn't apply it seems, it simply says that "we were naughty and Jesus suffered the death penalty to help us be better people" basically. It doesn't say "oh and the old testament no longer applies btw".

Deuteronomy 22:20, KJV "But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die."

Good point and here's another reference to it. Although the NIV actually mistranslates a couple of the passages you provided.

Leviticus also advocates the death penalty for disobedient children btw and a range of other things.

@JingleBerries11 Oral sex is actually classed under the term "sodomy" you know ^^. I dont know the biblical specifics but I wouldn't be surprised if it is classed as "sexual immorality".
