View our unique design of the License Plate Reader. The Memphis Police Department has the most powerful, and most flexible LPR system available. The technical staff of the award winning MPD's Real Time Crime Center designed the LPR to be mounted on a pan/tilt system which can be controlled within the car. Local integrator, ESI companies, built the first prototype and subsequent revisions based upon our specifications. You are looking at the LPR reader (with the illuminators) on top, This particular model has a FLIR mounted (square black lens on the left side), a radar puck in the middle, and the officer's overview camera on the bottom right. The FLIR is for night vision.
