  • why in the world would anyone run a steam engine tender first when youre able to run it forward like they were designed to run? would you run your car backwards on the way home from the food store? dont think so

  • Nice "suicide" shot at 6:22! My parents wouldn't approve of me doing that... they'd think I'd ruin the camera!!!

  • whats with the gp30 at the end

  • The Tennessee Valley Train takes on avarage, 1 hour to do a 6 mile round trip. They baby old #610. Even on the 100 mile round trip, they won't run it over 15 miles an hour.

  • He wants them to do it like STRASBURG.

  • for special trips

  • You could but why would you want to?

  • can they do it for once

  • If there's a way to run forward, it's preferred. An engine like 734 isn't really supposed to run backwards on the mainline.

    So really: no

  • is there a way 734 can pull tender first

  • It does look a bit odd, but it's too much trouble to move the caboose to the other end for the return trip. And running forward both ways is easier on the engine's wheels
