@teothedemon That's the original look for Borderlands. Originally it wasn't going to be cell shaded, but they changed the design completely at some point. There's still screenshots of the original art style on google and the original trailer (2007) here on Youtube...

For helena pierce she says Something about muscles the bounty hunter, meaning brick.
I think it's Roland talking saying "mordecai? Is that you?" so maybe they had a separate story for each person just a few examples but then they decided to make the game co op.

what game is it that is a borderlands game but has like fallout 3 graphics?
I mean i have seen many pictures of mordecai and some other guy but it isnt the same borderlands! not to mention it is more badass!

It seems like there was going to be more to the story as well as being a much more serious game, then they decided to go with a more humorous and comical style at the last minute... Well maybe we'll learn more in DLC 4 and Borderlands 2.
