yes, straight cut gears whine, but usually not that much.

Actually, he didn't win the race... I think he ended up with 5th or 6th position... the rest of the GT cars were far ahead. He had a bad qualifying round and had to start from the back of the grid and go through the sport class, the supersport class, then the GT class... Amazing driving.... the transmission had a problem which is why it whined so loud...

OMG, if it also ha a turbo, it would sound like god singing imo.

arrgghhh that gearbox squeel, the 320 super tourers all have it and it drives me insane haha. but it kicks some serious ass.

The wining is because the gearbox has straight cut gears to handle more power and torque, and I doubt anyone would start a race with a faulty gearbox.
