LYRICS: English Translation

The winter may pass and the spring disappear, the spring disappear;
The summer too will vanish and then the year, and then the year.
But this I know for certain: you'll come back again, you'll come back again.
And even as I promised you'll find me waiting then, you'll find me waiting then.

Oh-oh-oh ....

God help you when wand'ring your way all alone, your way all alone.
God grant to you his strength as you'll kneel at his throne, as you'll kneel at his throne.
If you are in heaven now waiting for me, in heaven for me.
And we shall meet again love and never parted be, and never parted be!

Oh-oh-oh ....

"But only Solveig stays true, waiting her whole life for his return. It’s the most touching moment, says Ashkenazy, “her final song is just devastating – it’s very difficult not to cry there.” "

The Music and lyrics are parts of a play, this performance giving it a completely different context with no relation to its meaning is the reason for my previously stated opinion. Especially with the song and lyrics being such a morally important part of the play.

  • @turmyturmy1 She's totally hot!! Would love to see her in a bikini.

  • Hey does anyone know the sheet music for this version. i want to sing it for an audition

  • @Remikei, and it is well done too getting through the magic in the play, or as they would say it much more precise in Norwegian: It's "trolsk". I don't know how wise it is to combine troll design and Peer Gynt though. Surely it's a national romantic play, but just as clear the play really is closer to social realism as a whole. It looks good though, like Disney:-)

  • She signs like an angel! I checked out various versions of this song on YouTube, this is the most beautiful one. Even though I don't know the language, but the song is so moving.

  • @turmyturmy1 stfu moron

  • She is like a Greek Muse, and an absolutely sublime voice.

  • I could listen to Peer Gynt over and over.

  • @tomada36 Eh, it's a bit rushed, and Andre Rieu himself has minimal talent and taste, but the singer's alright, I guess.

  • @RudeBoy9179 Very very close. Both are in the uppermost echelon

  • @turmyturmy1 More than kinda!
