Art Journal Page: Practice Makes Perfect

I'm using diecuts, spray inks, gesso, watercolor crayons and acrylic varnish in this image. I build up layers of diecuts, and grunge it up with watercolor crayons.

Lovely...my question is why do you write on the page first and then cover it up? Does it show thru? I do see many artists do this and I was wondering...

@latinapheonix Sometimes it shoes through, but mostly I use it as a texture for the page. To me the writing is less important than getting it out in the journal. Process not product is my only rule.

@LegalLoading Thanks! And yes a hairdryer will work. For some paints a hairdryer is best becuase it doesn't get as hot ans the heat gun
