  • I hear all you guys who criticize these stars for being extremely wealthy. However, I think we should focus on the cause they are trying to voice before we bash them. Sure they may be loaded rich, but if they actually are trying to do something good, then isn't that commendable? You will always be able to look at somebody and say, "They can give more." We can all give more. I guess all I'm trying to say is let's look at what they are talking about, and then make our judgments from there

  • you will have poverty as long as greedy and stupid politicians run the countries. in ethiopia people have their workplace bulldozed. you can give trillions in aid and politicians are still going to put this in their pocket. and you cant buy rain.

its foreign investment that makes countries rich. billions went to africa and nothing improved, while asia blooms from our investment.

  • @ourgenerationisdumb Exactly. What's the point of having 10 cars if you need only one to move around? What's the point of having 3 houses if you need only one to live in? I'm glad you agree.

  • @HelenaNV True. I just think it's so different to imagine having that money, opposed to actually having it. Everyone wants security. But you're totally right, no one needs THAT much. Point taken.

  • @ourgenerationisdumb If you had that kind of money and truly understood the concept of unused money that could be saving lives, and truly had their well fare in mind, I'm sure you would. What's the difference if you're not using it?

  • @HelenaNV I hear you. Asking people to pitch in while one is sitting on a pile of cash does take away from one's credibility. But then again, we don't know how much each of these celebrities actually gives. Bono gives a ton, but he may be the exception.

I always feel like a hypocrite for criticizing rich people because I ask myself, would I be any different? I hope I would be, but I'm not positive.

  • @ourgenerationisdumb What good does it bring, though? Looking at what they are trying to say? People need money. Not kind words. These celebrities, whom I actually admire, have unused, static money they will never have the opportunity to spend. It feels like a joke.

  • Wow its Americans trying to do some good instead of killing sand niggers in other countries as well as their own.

  • @StandingRedPanda ...And what about the impoverished peoples in capitalist countries? Do these people not have more children than they can afford, feed, clothe, educate and otherwise care for. Do these impoverished children not end up taking refuge in the subculture of "street life" and perpetuate the hopelessness having more babies out of wedlock. I could have said the "responsible father" is the cure for poverty, but we both know that'll never happen. It's up to the females to use protection.

  • I'm doing a lot. I gave up on buying a house and a Spyker car and decided to do propa investments and donations from time to time :D that should work, but no amount of cheesy commercials or foreign aid is going to make Africa rich. When you donate, the money vanishes very quickly, while investments keep rising and rising and rising. Just look at Botswana - prospering from diamond investments.

Make poverty history. Invest today :D and keep shopping! It makes someone richer.

  • @theDuctapeUnion Nah, capitalism is the ultimate cure to the poverty :D Every former communist country, that adopted capitalism, is now succesful and even developed, not just being a developing country.

  • Read Dambisa Moyo and William Easterly, not this fool.
