  • i did this move for salsa ...nd trust me it blows people minds

  • Britt, what were you saying "NO" to?

  • NICE SOFLEX SHIRT!

  • GO learn from a PRO. you need spotters. Tiny and strong is the wrong thought process - that's how people get hurt. Lindy Hop and aerials are about momentum and balance. Where do you live?

  • If you haven't done aerials before, find someone who is to teach you how.

As for the safety factor of aerials in general, there are many different levels: the frog jump is one of the safest that I know of, whereas one like waterfall is considerably more dangerous. And, with any aerial, even if one or the other has done a particular one before, if the other hasn't, make sure you have spotters!

  • NO.

  • The issue with trying to learn an aerial through a video clip like this, is that it is an overview of what the class did. This is not meant to be an instructional video. You can't get all the tips and all the pitfalls to watch out for that the teachers describe in class. As an experience lindyhopper who has taken aerial classes from these two, I highly recommend against trying to learn it through this clip. Take their class, they're awesome! Search Jo Hoffberg on google. :-P

  • I agree with AgentChan. Either go to a workshop or at least practice over some kind of mat. I'm a gymnast not a dancer, but I've taken falls that could occur with this trick if you failed to catch eachother at the end. You can break your arm(s) really easy with a trick like this if you screw up. Thus- get a mat its less painful.

  • How safe is this to do for somewhat amateur dancers? I've been dancing for 4 months and want to practice this with my partner.

She's tiny, I'm strong (if that makes any difference)

    Any suggestions?
