Placer Land Trust's Bird Habitat Enhancement Program - Megan Forester's Silver Award Project 2009-2010

Local Girl Scout Troop 1319 member, Megan Forester, volunteered a year of her time to head up the PLT Bird Habitat Enhancement Project which involves planting and managing trees, shrubs and grasses as well as building and installing nesting boxes for Western bluebird, tree swallow, American kestrel, Western burrowing owl, Ash-Throated flycatcher, wood duck etc. Megan and her family worked hard throughout the nesting season to build, install and monitor bluebird/tree swallow boxes. Their hard work paid off and a total of 178 baby birds were fledged in 2010. Thank you Megan, Deb, Jeff, and Emma!
