I saw her play live recently and she explained that she wrote this song after a small club gig which she was the opener for JJ Cale. After the show JJ and Tom Petty (who came by to see JJ) were leaning against opposite sides of a long hallway and she wanted to go and join the two of them in conversation but didn't know what to say. So she went back to her hotel room and wrote this song instead.

Saw Pieta about a month ago at the Kent Stage in Kent OH.. Front row...what a performance. Mindy Smith was there also. I am still in awe...
