  • What this basically means is that our Governments are deciding to dump

our garbage in the sea because landfills are overflowing. There's no 'mystery'

here. The trick is to catch them in the act. Sad, but this is the legacy we leave

for our generation and generations to follow...that is if we're still here. = [

  • Where is it coming from? Are they serious! Hello! It's called Japan! Think about it people. The size of their country vs people living there. Then look at the ocean current and where does that current flow. Bingo. China is no prize either.

  • Human = Garbage

  • shame, shame, we are heartless creatures, and it was proved through this video, i wish we could get more people to watch it..........

  • @40colby That's because the plastic photodegrades into tiny pieces that can hardly be seen, and is about 10 m down from the surface. The plastic absorbs the toxins from the ocean, and then fish eat that. It's not a myth, it's a huge problem. Enjoy your fish next time you eat it.

  • Well I'd like to see some photos of this mythical "garbage patch the size of texas". You'd think that would be pretty easy to spot, especially from the air and film... yet I have not seen one picture of it or film. This video, like many others, claim that "scientists find the great pacific garbage patch" but like all the other videos, I don't see any actual film of it. Just a few pieces of garbage off the beach or ocean. Sounds like one big myth to me.

  • I wouldn't freak out about this problem, since it has been around for a while now. I would however; watch this video anyway and make a conscious effort to recycle trash and stop littering. This is our only planet to live on, we really need to learn how to live on it the right way, and get along.

  • Ecologists have known about it since at least the 80s, so yeah, not really a discovery. It got a lot more attention since the late 90s, though.
