Nice job recording the ACTUAL version! There are other ones from the 2010 Olympics on YouTube, but they're the pre-recorded, 'direct-to-DVD' versions, not the real one with crowd sounds and such. kd did her own thing for the actual, non-pre-recorded version that just made it the best version I've ever heard of Leonard Cohen's song. Your recording squelches out some of the high frequencies (can hardly hear the drums/cymbals) but it's genuine. Thanks for sharing it!

i don't think you can. i pulled this song off the actual opening ceremonies event, cleaned it up and turned it into an mp3.  you can probably find an earlier recording, but not sure about this particular one...

Regardless of if you like the Olympics or not, like kd lang or not... If this song doesn't teleport you when she sings it... there's something wrong with you.

DAMN! she has the pipes! Of course, I can't take any credit for her singing, or our athletes AWESOME performances, but it , somehow, still makes me EVEN prouder to be Canadian! I'm a happy camper! They made us SO proud!

Don't waste your money buying the "official" version. Studio workings can't come close to the passion, the energy, the intensity of this live version. The live version is so powerful, nothing can come close to it, not even their peddled "official" version.
