I learned this one by ear. Took about a day to sit down and figure it all out and get the timing issues right.

Nah I don't have a cat (furthermore cats arent allowed on naval warships ^.^). The artist just does something comparable to a sigh or whine but not completely vocalizing anything so it just comes out as almost a gargle/clearing of the throat. It's EXTREMELY common in emotional singing because it portrays restlessness or anxiety for the subject at hand or what is about to be said in the immediate future...at least that's what I think!
