So what kind of screws would you recommend for uppers ?

Another good tip but i wouldn't use a drill that didn't
have a clutch on it as a driver.
As far as over sizing the pilot hole for adj of the piece. [clear hole]. It's a good idea, i just shorten the depth so more of the screw tip hit's solid wood fibers. .Sheet rock screws don't have the same SHEAR rating. They are also brittle. Also less thread area.
Base box's, i wouldn't care. Uppers, wouldn't ever use sheetrock screws. If it ever fell, you would be screwed.

i use #2 square tips with the countersink nibs on the screw. i install all kinds of wood types and they countersink themselves with no probs. but the multiple drills are nice to have though

why arn't you recomending the combo bits, wiht adjustible length and sizes?
This would elminate the use of another drill set up. Please respond I would like to hear from another pro.

I generally drill my pilot hole slightly bigger than shaft of screw, combo pilot bits with countersink won't do it that way.I have had much better luck making slight adjustments to fit doing it that way+++Bob
