Another Case of Land Grabbing

There was drama in Balozi Estate in Nairobis South B area as Government officials moved in to demolish houses under construction on land said to belong to the Ministry of Livestock Development. Construction workers engaged the Government officials in running battles and police had to intervene to give way to the demolition squad to carry out the exercise. The Kenya Veterinary Vaccination Production Institute had earmarked the land for the construction of a vaccine production centre but the said land had ended up in the hands of private developers under unclear circumstances.
