a 45 rpm record I recorded in the early 70s about a sailors life on the C&O carferries out of Ludington, Michigan. With my spare time aboard the Badger, I learned how to play the guitar, and in just a few months, I went to Milwaukee Wis. and recorded this song I wrote.

  • I have watched the 41,42 and 43 come into Milwaukee many times back in the early 70's and then watched the railroad unload and load the rail cars.

  • I was working on the 41 43 and 42 1966 to 1973

  • @griffisdenny Your uncle Bob worked on the badger too, With Pete at that, I just talked to Dad and he brought up a lot of memories of Pete and everyone else they worked with on the boats.

  • Could you please upload the flipside (Listen my son)

  • Great 45 (both sides)

  • My mom played this song to death as a kid.. I know it by heart.. My ucle Doug worked with you on The badger or maybe it was the Midland.. that parts a little fuzzy.. But great song anyway

  • Do you have the flip side of this???? I sure have grand memories of you all.....great growing up years. Pete/Joyce, I remember you fondly and send my love. Thanks so much for sharing this music. The years just peal away.

  • @lithowoman Loved that song on the flip side....Listen My Son thank you for reminding me of that one!

  • THANK YOU!!!!! Oh the memories! I love this song. you know, my biological father worked on this BADGER in 1968. I still have his ID card....Daniel Bussell. thanks you guys! I sure love you.

  • I can only imagine how difficult a life the crew of the carferries had. This song is a wonderful, heartfelt ballad about a chapter of history Lake Michigan will most likely never see again. From the memories of someone who loved watching the Badger and the Spartan as a child, they were the most beautiful ships ever. Please know that your hard work brought many of us so much happiness. We thank you for all you did. May God bless the Badger and all who sail on her.

  • cleaned this up a little as I remember but sure good to hear again I had a first run of the 45 will always remember the reverbaration station and your radio room up stairs in your house

  • @MrPetepictures Hey Pete - if you go to the site and type in "badger" you can see it. I would give you the link here but YouTube won't let!
