This drill is excellent for developing a players ability to shoot in stride as well as cutting and re-accelerating. For more information on individual training drills, visit www.hockeyshare.com/blog
I agree with you, but as a righty shot I lift that leg (right leg) when I'm rushing up the left wing because I don't want to turn my body to shoot off the correct leg (left leg). That would slow you down and let the D get in front of you. What do you think?
@FFSilostmycookie No but 2 of my friends are on the Junior Finnish Lions team, AAA and I might go with my younger brother to the tournaments, I know what you're talking about, but no my team is not playing, we have regular season only.
Red Deer Rebels... and finland? is your team by chance playing in a swiss tourney around spring break? cause I'll be up there during spring break playing on USA
@FFSilostmycookie I got you now man, my bad, didn't even notice the wrong leg :D I'm from Finland and play SM hockey for Ilves(: what team do you play for? We just visited Ontario, and Montreal.
the skater is lifting the wrong leg though >.> if you lift the left leg as a right hand shot all it does is throw you off balance and take away power in the shot... only time you should lift it, is in dekes and leg pumps to freeze a goalie... I play major junior in Canada

@FFSilostmycookie That is exactly how you need to shoot, lift the leg for weight transfer.
