A look at the inner workings of the G&G Tracer silencer unit. This 14mm CCW threaded silencer uses a Xenon gas discharge flash similar to that of a digital camera, to charge the glow in the dark BBs as they pass through by it when leaving the gun. The silencer has a "wake" button that also illuminates to let you know the battery status, green flashing for healthy and red for low power and charging.
the silencer has an inbuilt movement sensor that kinda sounds like there is something loose inside, worry not though as its perfectly normal. This sensor keeps the silencer active when being used and allows it to "sleep" when left for prolonged periods of non use.

As can be seen in the video, i have tested out some Vanaras BBs in the silencer but i have yet to fire them. The silencer was able to light up Madbull BBs very well though and it can handle high rate of fire without skipping thanks to the way in which its designed.
A friend borrowed the unit during a recent night game and had some trouble with the flash triggering but i haven't gotten to the bottom of that issue yet, it may have been a BB problem or maybe even the mixture of tracer and non tracer rounds. I'll know more when i try it with his gun myself. :)

Hope you enjoy the video though and hopefully it'll prove useful for you.

  • Im planning on getting this unit, however I have some questions.

How would I charge the LiPo Battery? In terms of a balancer or any special techniques?

Or is the stock charger good enough?

  • @GhostSarge It comes with a charger and its pretty decent. :)

  • @tiganhonda Thanks for the timely reply! :)

Also, have you noticed any major drawbacks with this unit?

(The size doesn't bug me much, it's still smaller than the silencer I have)

  • @GhostSarge None at all, its a great unit. The one thing i dont like about it isnt anything to do with quality, its the led that indicates when its active, its too bright and gives you away in night time games. Put a sticker over it. :)

  • @tiganhonda What do you prefer to use it on??

  • @GhostSarge Anything really, Ive hat it on my M4's, Tavor, F2000 etc etc. Its short enough not to be a problem. :)

  • nice

  • @MrMuthaUcker The battery lasts a long time, you could leave it for weeks and come back to find it still full. Ingame its more than capable of pulling out for a few thousand rounds or more, I havent managed to waste it fully yet. You wont really see much of a glow from any tracers during daylight, their just too faint and moving too quickly to be able to see anything.

  • How long would you say the battery lasts, and what tracer bb's do you use? Thanks for the video. Also does it make the bb's glow bright enough for you to see them in day light?

  • @XboxLiveBarboron Yeah we came to the conclusion his mags were to fault and were not feeding the BBs proberly. He thought this was a problem with the tracer illuminating but he couldnt check at the time because he was mid game at night time. So no problem of the silencer at all then. :)
