3yo child with congenital posterior lenticonus/cataract. Anterior and posterior capsulorhexis performed. 3pc acrylic PCIOL placed in the bag with optic captured through PCCC (haptic remain in capsular bag). No vitrectomy required. Capsular bag/LECs sequestered with IOL in this position. Perhaps the best ideal position for a PCIOL in these pediatric cataracts as reported by others. Note no hydrodissection performed due to posterior polar/lenticonus cataract -- but hydrodelineation performed. Ike Ahmed, MD

  • This is fascinating! I had this same operation done and I'm hugely thankful for it. I also found as I was watching the video I was cheering at the removal of the cataract like a football game! Lol!
