I'm terribly sorry for the caller, and I pretty much teared up listening to this. Joe Paterno is not a bad guy. He's a respectable man that made a terribly wrong decision.
The riot was just an idiotic action by the students. Half of them probably don't even know what was happening and heard that JoePa got fired and so they acted like retards.

I don't even like Penn State, but this whole situation has still been hard for me to accept because I deeply respect Paterno. But the simple fact is he knew about Sandusky's actions nearly a decade ago and did almost nothing about it. He did the right thing in going to his superiors, but they did the wrong thing by doing nothing, and subsequently he then did the wrong thing by not following up with it when they wouldn't. He's partly to blame for any incidents since then. He needed to go.
