Castratie van jonge biggen/Castration of young pigs

(English follows below) Op jonge leeftijd worden mannelijke biggen voor het oog van hun machteloos toekijkende moeder en broertjes en zusjes onverdoofd gecastreerd.
Dit is recentelijk verboden in nederland.

On a very young age, male piglets are castrated in the Netherlands without anaesthetic. However, unanaesthetised castration has been outlawed starting 2008 in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, most countries still do. The U.S., The Netherlands, Germany; all require male pigs to be castrated because of boar-taint.

Most people disagree with this practise (except some nutcases) but aren't willing to change the industry.
