This is "Voyage of the Moon" by Mary Hopkin, the world greatest female singer.
She is Welsh. Her biggest hit "Those were the Days" got No.1 authorized chart records in US, UK, and in Japan.
This song is included in her first album "Postcard", available in Japan at larger discstores, ie. TowerRecords, MHV, Shinseido and Amazon etc. The newest repress from Toshiba-EMI released in 2005.
Very recently Jul08 a young Japanese challenger Shione Yukawa released her 2nd Album including the cover of song.

My Son went to an art exhibition in Newcastle and saw this work "voyage of the mmon" by Nara and instantly recognised the voice of Mary Hopkin as he has heard her music in our house all his life...
