@lazaglider you are right, I don't know much about it, my old BMW 335d hasn't suffered with it so far thankfully! However unless an engine suddenly takes on the strength of a diesel locomotive then simply slotting 5th gear with foot on the brake and dropping the clutch it will bring everything to an end I assure you! ;-)

@tobym5 You don't know much about runaway do you? Short of finding a way to displace the oxygen in the engine, there isn't much you can do.
