On September 4th, 1965 Jay & the Americans' "Some Enchanted Evening" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #13 and spent 10 weeks in the Top 100...
Perry Como had the most successful version of this song; on July 30th, 1949 it reached #1 and stayed at the top spot for 5 weeks.
Jane Olivor also charted; her version made it to #91 in 1977.
The song was originally a show tune from the 1949 Broadway musical "South Pacific" and was sung by Ezio Pinza.

That is NOT Jay Traynor! That is the one and only VOICE ..JAY BLACK..it's common knowledge that he made a hit of this song and that he had to fight to get it recorded..
