Disaster preparedness is no longer the only concern of an earthquake for Californians, tornado for those who live in the part of the country known as Tornado Alley, hurricane for those who live in Florida. For most of us, preparedness must now account for a man-made disaster or terrorism act as well as the natural ones. Knowing what to do during an emergency is a vital part of being prepared and make all the difference when seconds count.

Our commitment of disaster safety can be traced back long before 9/11. Preparing for emergencies can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany emergencies and disasters. Communities, businesses, families, and individuals should have an emergency preparedness plan. Planning will help you to shelter, or evacuate your homes or offices with survival kits. Having water and food supplies is critical for you, your family members and pets.
