  • There is one crucial point that Mr. Fresco is forgetting to acknowledge. Many of the scenarios discussed are science based. How have we come to even learn about science. How does he know about what he's talking about...He chose it, he chose to learn about it.Why did science come about? people chose to want to make sense of everything. I think that he's discussing free will in very general terms where yes we are affected by nature and natural phenomena,

  • @GCGiorn not true, every step you take is forced by your background. It's never a choice. Fresco had a particular set of circumstances that drove him toward physical sciences, engineering, human behavior, etc.

  • @thevenusprojectmedia

Please correct me where I'm wrong, Fresco was born and raised under certain circumstances. Where he was influenced through what he was taught from his parents, from his time at school, from his peers etc. He was then given options as to what he wanted to pursue and due to his curiosity or interest in lets say physical sciences, engineering, and human behaviour he CHOSE to follow that route. He could have most certainly chose a different path. We're influenced, not forced.

  • @GCGiorn influence is a force.

  • AWESOME!!! fucking awesome video! thanks for posting! greets from Brazil

  • There is a lot of debate by the different fields, of the meaning of free will, but the underlying opinion is that, free will is the ability to make choices. Just because things are influenced by other things, doesn't mean that free will doesn't exist. The more information we have, the more choices we can make. New inventions are influenced by the information that someone has obtained. Free will allows for the choice to make something new and independent of the normal or to stay as the normal.

  • Everything you call free will is a combination of your sensory inputs(which you have no control over), your previous sensory inputs(which over time, shaped who you are. That would include your personality, your beliefs, your values, your knowledge, your experience... etc) working together in a very complex thought process which might give many the illusion of free will.

We're just nature's machines. We have no free will. We were bound to do everything we're doing now.

  • @GCGiorn Every thought, behavior or action is caused by environmental effects outside of your control. Thoughts can be based on other thoughts but they all can be ultimately linked backed to the environment. Ofcourse, everybody's wired differently, born with different attributes and raised in different environments and that's why you have so many variations. tbc...

  • Be cool if they can get Jacque to guest star on the Big Bang Theory

  • I get that our choices are determined by our environment, but what determines the environment in-itself?

  • @GCGiorn My friend, you are not free but there is no determinism. There is a range of responses that you can engage in and are predictable so you cannot step outside that range. Are you free from having to make a choice? Even being free from the choices made is a limiting factor. There is a limitation inherent in nature which we a part of, that does not allow for 'free will'. Free will is a political and religious myth in order to justify the atrocities of culture.

  • Jaqcue Fresco is a genius.

  • ok I understand what he's talking about now. Our decisions are largely based on cause and effect and conditioning
